does it need to be put into the carb? or simply setup on the handle bars? what kind of carb? post pics and I'll walk ya through it.
it needs to be put on the carb, its a stock 49cc carb , i will post pics soon
The throttle cable is easy to reinstall but youll need a pusher spring so the throttle snaps back positively........

On the cable trunion on the carb rotator theres a side thats indented to fit the leaded cable end into...make sure you position it right to seat the cable

Feed the cable into the cable bracket adjustment screw

You put the spring over the cable to the cable adjustment adjuster screw on the cable bracket on the carb,,

Make sure the cable has plenty of slack by turning in the adjusters at the throttle

Crack the throttle wide open on the throttle rotator on the carb with the trunion positioned right then lay the cable into the slot on the carbs cable trunion and let the rotator go so the cable seats into the cable trunion indented end

Readjust cable slack at throttle housing or cable bracket adjustment screw at carb

Good Luck

do i have to take the carb off in order to do this?
No..........it can be done with carb on engine and engine mounted within frame...........

I had quite a few of those bikes in X1 and x2 versions,,,the CVT transmissions are prone to poblems unless modded...Good Luck with yours
thanks guys i got the throttle cable on now i need to get the bike to start! it sounds like its about to start but it doesnt any tips?

Pull the plug and clean it then regap it to .030"

clean the intank fuel clunker

make sure the fuellines are on the carb right....the black larger line goes on the larger ribbed nipple on the carb and the clear line goes on the smaller smooth nipple on the carb....

mix the fuel to 40:1 using good 2 stroke premix and 93 octane fuel

pump the primer bulb 8 times

turn on the keyswitch

set the choke

pull til it starts

good luck

It looks broken to me nand seems you missed getting the cable into the larger end of the trunion..the carb rotator needs to be set wide open to allow the leaded end to slip into the hole...the little ledge keeps the cable safely attached within the trunion......Open up the throtttle housing up and see if the cable is indeed broken....If so theyre $8bucks shipped on ebay...

When you get the new cable dont forget to lube the whole cable internally with cable lube of synthetic motor oil so it wont break again..Lube the handlebar under the twist grip with light duty grease or aluminum based anti-seize and lube the throttle where it mates with the throttle housing......

It wont go past 3mph because of 3 things,,tune,,clutch and transmission.............pull the engine and trans and bench it...then get ready to mod it and make it readily rideable and reliable.............quicker too.........LOL

Okay ill try this, does the choke need to be on off in order to ride?
Ps were do I plug my speedo at?
Can someone post a clear pic of were the throttle cable is supposed to go?(into the carb) please
My cable slides out every time I use the throttle ,i think I'm gonna buy a new carb because I haven't seen that part for sale(were the throttle goes on the carb)

can you tell the diference between the small and large end of the cable end trunion?...If so like I stated you need to rotate the trunion til the leaded end fits into the large end of the trunion......Theres a small lip that hinders the cable from going in and coming out if the rotator if it isnt flipped to wide open mode to feed the cable into the trunion with trunion oriented the right way............Good luck........

\Heres how youre most likely trying to hook it up.............This is the wrong way

You must turn the cable like this..notice the cable safety step lip catches the cable.......

rotate a lil more and the cable will pop into the larger end of the trunion when the cable is fed through..............

dont forget you need the pusher spring..............you may need to pry the trunioin channel open a lil bit or may have to file down the lead end a lil bitn to get the cable to fit

Ohhhh I think I know wat I did wrong, I didn't have rotator wide open .i can tell your rotator is more to the right.I will try this tomorrow thanks
What would happen if I had no spring?
