I have an X3 ( essentially same as the x2 from what I've been told) and I'm in the process of simplifying everything. I've removed all the lights and wiring harness along with the battery. My question is will the bike run without a battery? Also I noticed there is one wire that connected to the wiring harness that's coming out from one of the engine cases.... what was this wire for? Thanks for the help.

You can connect the 2 wires from the coil and the starter button and use the starter button as the kill switch.

Then you can remove the guts of the starter housing and all of it and just use the the pull start. It's just extra weight without a battery.
