I've been lurking on here for some time now, have a screwed up cat-eye (50 bucks) and an X18 that i got for 2 bills.

I decided to finally put a real post on here other than a question like my first post...

All I've really done to it so far, is clean up the clutch(using cams new-bike walkthrough), oil, replace the front brake system (original one when I got it was toast), weekend paint (rustoleum x2 primed white, x2 key lime, with x2 clear coat), LEDs i had laying around, and been adjusting the mix and idle back and forth on the carb.

I've been into 'real' bikes for years now, since I was a teen, have had a few 1ks, and 6ers. Sold my 06 R6 that was a full stunt ride last year before I went overseas. The midbike is a better toy for now, less trouble, cheaper parts, smaller chance of death, and overall is better for me and my small family. I even ride it next to my wife and daughter(she's in a stroller) when we go for 'walks'

But I have some big plans in store for it, and am keeping a lazy eye out for a second bike. I eventually plan on putting better suspension on the rear, fixing up the front, I have a 41T sprocket for the rear (i want more low-end torque, my R6 had a +9 rear sprocket) just been too lazy to put on, need the new throttle sleeve (billet one), and i really want to put the X7 fairings on like s-wheels did. Eventually a better motor after I move. (cross country move is stressful :( )

Here's a short clip from earlier today messing with the BP on standing it up, I scraped the tail a few times earlier after this video. (My fav tricks on the '6 were scraping the stock plastics, and Merc steps.) I can almost merc-step the X18, but when I jump back onto the saddle I can't really keep it standing yet. With the way I've been slamming some, I dont forsee the front end surviving long...

Sorry for the novel guys.

But thanks a lot to Cam and SWheels. Have a small binder with some of your posts for references!

To get more lowend torque get a 14 tooth front sprocket...My x18 stunter is running 14/38 no probs and is an easier change....On my stunting GIXXER I had a 88 tooth rear sprocket...It was almost as big as the whole rear rim........LOL

to get the front forks to land softer get a bigger fatter front tire to absorb the impact aswell as add some thick 80w/90 gearoil in the forks and do swheels upper cap spring preload mod........If you can find a set of #140 front springs id put them in too......My stunter has fatter front tire ,, thick gearoil spring spacers and #140 springs.....

Yeah, I had a huge sprocket on my ol' tank of an F4i, but the R6 was also used for transportation so I couldn't go too extreme on the re gearing. Man, I miss the 6 though.

Been messing around more with the x18. I'm def going to do the swheels fork mod, with the springs.

Right now, I'm having a hard time keeping my bars from slipping, no matter how much I wrench down the screws. What I'm planning on doing is putting dirtbike bars on it, similar to what I had on my '4i, but smaller of course. I just took the protaper riser mounts, drilled the top of the tripple, and put protapers on. I cut them down a few inches on both sides, but them being straight across in stead of set back, and higher, gave way easier control for endos, and wheelies, and the higher rise made it quite a bit easier on the wrists.
similar to this: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee352/Erotomania90/IMG00133-20110625-1735.jpg

I'm having a hard time finding the mounts though for smaller moose-style bars.

Got the new bars on today. Previous owner epoxied the left controls on so I have the lights (ran to LEDs) hard wired. Might reinstall a new one later, not to worried about it.

Pro taper oversized mounts, with diamond back bmx bars. I had pro taper bars, they'd fit great but when flipped and upside down the knurled clutch side becomes the throttle side, and then the throttle sticks. So bmx bars it is for now. Makes it more rigid and comfy. Had to trim the the fairing. But the lower moto x bars I wouldn't have too. Might replace on down the road if I can find oversized mx bars withou the knurled side.

Will post pics in a bit, on my cell phone

I took a long SV frame slider earlier, and bored it out and slide onto the axle for staggars. It made riding out stand-ups WAAAY easier.

The new bars are super comfortable. They make it where just a little clutch will bring it up. I've been trying to get sit-down circles started, and got a couple of single O's down tonight. They're hit or miss, but I'm def getting there. This weekend is a long weekend, so ill take a friend or wifey to the lot with the video camera and post some up. Brake/Throttle/Clutch control for wheelies is coming back to me quick.

Man this bike is so fun...

I did however, not tighter down the axle's nut tight enough after putting the peg in, and lost it... DOH.
What size is it? I'm gonna swing by home-depot and get a few extras tomorrow, and some lock-tite.

@Vroomin
Yeah, heres a short sitdown, and staggar

Sitdown [repost from earlier in this thread] ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKKHRawzNaY )

Here's some clips from tonight at the lot. Getting closer to O's!

The last one was going great until i lost momentum and had to catch myself and wip it back around. I'm slowing my wheelies down so much I sometimes stall with it up.

Anyone seen a good setup for an idle-cable for idle adjustments on the fly?

@Cam, for the front suspension, are these the kind of springs you were talking about?

How'd you go about doing it?

These are the brand of fork spring I used....I think my set was from a TTR125 and cut them down to fit nice n tight..........Its been awhile since installing mine so I dont remember the number and dont recall logging it in my book but I can check......

I'm gonna run by the honda dealership tonight to check out an Idle cable, and see if they have any similar springs off a dirtbike or something. Gonna check a couple of other spots too.

Does anyone happen to have the thread where he modded the top cap of the front forks? He made a new cap/top, and cut a slit into the bolt where he basically made a preload adjuster. I was going to do that on my forks also.

Been searching all morning using the site: trick on google with no luck. Just the nylon washer on the piston one, and the tall guy asking for advice on how to make his bike more spacous.

So I took one of the brakes off my cateye, and put two tiny little washers into it, and now it will fit and grab the rotor on my x18. I have some pro bicycle brake levers, so going to go get a cable and get a hand brake going.

Not sure what the deal is, bikes been running like garbage the past two days. Gonna troubleshoot and get her running good tonight.

I broke my clutch cable too, so i replaced it with a high quality BMX cable.
