I've been lurking on here for some time now, have a screwed up cat-eye (50 bucks) and an X18 that i got for 2 bills.
I decided to finally put a real post on here other than a question like my first post...
All I've really done to it so far, is clean up the clutch(using cams new-bike walkthrough), oil, replace the front brake system (original one when I got it was toast), weekend paint (rustoleum x2 primed white, x2 key lime, with x2 clear coat), LEDs i had laying around, and been adjusting the mix and idle back and forth on the carb.
I've been into 'real' bikes for years now, since I was a teen, have had a few 1ks, and 6ers. Sold my 06 R6 that was a full stunt ride last year before I went overseas. The midbike is a better toy for now, less trouble, cheaper parts, smaller chance of death, and overall is better for me and my small family. I even ride it next to my wife and daughter(she's in a stroller) when we go for 'walks'
But I have some big plans in store for it, and am keeping a lazy eye out for a second bike. I eventually plan on putting better suspension on the rear, fixing up the front, I have a 41T sprocket for the rear (i want more low-end torque, my R6 had a +9 rear sprocket) just been too lazy to put on, need the new throttle sleeve (billet one), and i really want to put the X7 fairings on like s-wheels did. Eventually a better motor after I move. (cross country move is stressful
)
Here's a short clip from earlier today messing with the BP on standing it up, I scraped the tail a few times earlier after this video. (My fav tricks on the '6 were scraping the stock plastics, and Merc steps.) I can almost merc-step the X18, but when I jump back onto the saddle I can't really keep it standing yet. With the way I've been slamming some, I dont forsee the front end surviving long...
Sorry for the novel guys.
But thanks a lot to Cam and SWheels. Have a small binder with some of your posts for references!
