Hello everyone,

I should have taken a pic of this track that me, inertjunky and his cuz saw today. I have looked for a pic for about an hour now with no luck and google maps has not updated the area where it is at yet.

It is an old on-road R/C track that is not being used this season for some reason.

The location is in the St. Charles, MO area by the intersection of Hwys 370 and 94.

The track is a 100' by 200' with about 10' to 12' lanes, apex markers, wood borders and even a starting grid and pit lane. F-ing awesome track. Perfect for small pocket bikes. Maybe too small for midbikes though. I think heats of about eight people would be exciting. Many more than that there will probably be a lot of traffic jams on the track.

I have been unsuccessful at contacting the owner of the track so far but I am going to be persistant at trying to reach him and persuade him into letting us use it.

I have a Liability Waiver that StandardRacer has graciously let me use to be a persuasion tactic in letting us use the track.

:DI NEED A HEAD COUNT SO I CAN TELL THE OWNER HOW MANY PEOPLE HE MIGHT EXPECT TO SEE IF WE WERE TO USE THE TRACK. :D:eek:

Please post in this thread if you are interested in racing or practicing and how often you would like to race or practice and what would you pay to race and or practice if we are able to use the track.

I hope this works out and we can get a small clup going here is STL.

It will be more of a technical track rather than wide open turns to pass people with but I think it would be fun. Definitly have to change the gearing on the bikes for more low end.

Send this thread to everyone you know in the area that might be interested. I need to create some interest to persuade the track owner.

Yeah for some reason the satalitte images are old and not up to date due to the lack of construction in the area.

There are a lot of industrial parks. I am going to work on somewhere cause I am hooked now. I wanna race!!!!!:D

I hate to tell you but thats not as big as you think . lol . looks like fun but if they plan on racing R/C cars on there again and there are gouges in the asphalt from crashing and pegs diggin in which does happen that willprob be the last time on it
We have over 250 cone to set up we just need a big place thats asphalted and will let us on . Nice track though i would love to put my brushless road car on it .

Fine just shoot me down like i have no feelings you heartless bastard!

No just kidding. I completely respect your opinion.:D

We were just there yesterday to check it out and it looks big enough but we did not ride on it out of respect for the property. Your probably right.

You don't think there will be a way to put frame sliders on the bikes so they don't dig in and gouge the track? Might be a possibility but might be more hassle than it's worth.

anythings possible hell i even made a set of nylon pegs for my cag and I scrape the sh!t outta those and they leave nothing on the track frame sliders are a easy mount like I said anythings possible . i would like to find a parking lot with offset levels closed up walmart , Kmart , lots would be the bomb or old mall lots make killer tracks . especially old warehouses lots and vacant lots . i found a parking lot I know would rock new asphalt and all its about the size of 4 football fields and there not used on the weekends but the police would throw us out before we even got one started . its just a 2 perfect place and its well lighted at night

Well inertjunky actually got a hold of the manager of the track. The track is under ownership change right now so it might be a little difficult to get in there right away. The manager says that since we have the liability waiver that he would throw around the idea with the owners and see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Standard,
Is there any way to get a hold of the owners of the lot or have you already tried. Sounds like a great place.

There is an RV dealer in Wentzville that has an extra parking lot behind the building that has maybe three RV's in it. Fresher asphalt. I would have to say about a football field size or so. I don't know if anyone would be interested in driving that far though.

Don't even think about putting a pocket bike on OUR rc track. Me and another friend built and run Evolution. Notice my screen name EVOstyle. I also happen to be a pocket bike rider and would love to ride on something that is as grand as evolution raceway. However, I too know the damage that would be caused by the foot pegs and so on. As of right now evolution is not being used because of the low turnout due to the economy and the lack of on-road racers. STL is an RC off-road town and we knew this building the track hoping more would join us after seeing the beautiful track. Sorry to burst your bubble but it would do ton's of damage to the racing surface and would easily put an end to us using it as an RC track.

STL will always be and off road place. I have seen quite a few on-road tracks come and go. I am just throwing the idea out there. I know no body would disrespect the track and ride on it without permission. That is why this thread was started, to see if there was an interest that might be more lucrative than R/C on-road. If pocket bikes can pay for more than R/C could then why not venture down that road? Just a suggestion.

Once we let pocket bikes on it, it'll be useless as an rc track. We built it for RC and plan on using it again. The economy sucks, off-road rc is cheap and king for now, AND we don't race pocket bike ourselves. However, that could change. Thanks for being consider it enough to not ride on the track.

Nice looking bike!

Thanks but not my bike. Thats just my platform for what mine will look like.....someday.

I disagree with off road being cheap. I raced off road for a while and all it did was take my paychecks to stay competitive. Right now, riding pocket bikes is a lot funner than holding a controller in my hand and all it cost me was a $40 bike from craigslist and about $100 more to get it fast.

There are some serious racers (pocket bike racers) out there that want to get a track going. There were quite a few that use to race down south on the go-kart track before they got kicked off. As of right now all we have is parking lots. And we can hardly find those due to people just not wanting us on them. I personally want a steady place that we can go and practice and race. I do not care if it is a track or a parking lot. I can get cones to make a track in a parking lot. StandardRacer has cones ready to use.

WE JUST NEED A D@MN PARKING LOT!!!!!marcelo

I just got mine not to long ago aswell. Found a couple of people on here semi close by and we try to ride on the weekends. But unfortunately we are in MO on the other side of STL.

You might want to try starting your own thread intitled "Chicago Blah Blah Blah" and see if anybody responds to it.

Standard,

That is the Pevely kart track. I believe that bikes got kicked off for the exact reason evostyle doesn't want us on there track. To much damage due to pegs. This is the other St. Louis Kart association track that is now closed. Looks pretty rough though.

st. louis race track - Google Maps

The might let us use that one

Yeah I don't get down that way at all. That's probably about 100 miles southeast of me. Not exactly a hop skip and a jump away. I might have somebody down that way that can check it out though.

I might be wrong about pevely but I think i remember reading about pevely being "racing racist" in another thread. I think it was the other "St. Louis riding" thread. Racing racists kinda stuck in my head. Thats the only reason I remember.

I took the bike up to the new high school parking lot with my nephew up here in T-Roy. Plenty of room to run there. I found out I need to gear it up. Hit top speed pretty quick in that parking lot.

Thinking about picking up a set of these:
