Very easy to make your own engine motor mounts. If you have access to a welder that's half the battle.
You can cut the engine cradle off. To use some of the metal. To make the motor mounts out of. Also I would suggest going to a hydraulic brake setup. The cable brakes will not be strong enough. To stop the bike, they will heat fast and fail.
The x18 and x7 are very similar chassis style.
I will post pics later of 1 of my chassis later.

 

What you will need is a old pit bike frame to cut the engine mount out of to weld into the X7 and you will have to spread open the frame so the head will fit

Sprocket and chains will also be required sounds like a great project 😃

 

Yea it does lol, gonna be my summer project hopefully. Would it be a wise idea to find a pit bike with a non-running engine? Mostly they would only have carb issues right?

 

The Honda clone engines can have a magnitude of different problems I wouldn't trust a non runner

Yet a non runner for like 50 or 70 $ would be ok you can leave the engine attached to the mount and then weld it in there for fitment

 

Kind of hard to find them in my area atm, is there a way to make the motor mounts myself?

 

this is my spare x18 roller. The forks and swingarm. Is not the original ones that came with the bike.

 

The motor mount is honestly a rather complex thing you can search eBay and Amazon for pit bike engine mounts but most of them are for adapting the engine to a go-kart so be careful with what you get do your research and it will pay off.

 

Maybe think about doing a predator harbor freight engine swap might be easier and cheaper if old used pit bikes are not available
