Whats the biggest motor I can get away with on this X7 Frame without cutting it up. I'm new to this but have been riding full size bikes since before I could legally :p

My advice would be to mod the stock piston port engine. With some proper porting and the right parts they can become very powerful. Ask EPR or CAM2 for modding advice. You could possibly make a 4 stroke flat head motor fit. But you need to modify so many things to make it work well.

The X7 four stroke X7 bike has different frame mounts than the 2 stroke engine and they body is a little different to fit the 4 stroke engine and transmission. You will need a cutting and welding tools and add new mounts & modify the body to fit over the engine. Some had 110cc w/ auto trans.

With welding and machining you can make engines like this with twice the stock horsepower. You can put a reed port alum alloy or billet winged head on a cut piston port cyld. I did mine with mostly had tools and a hand hacksaw, 8" bench grinder, Dremel & small surface plate.
You can port the cyld, raise the compression, bigger carb and tuned exhaust.

Well here's some pics with the plastics off. Shocks are rusted, gotta go get a pull start for it .. Air cleaner is missing . still haven't gone over it real careful. Going to drain the gas out of the tank today and maybe pull the motor off and see how much of the crud i can clear off the frame and probably blast and repaint it .

Permatex makes a 2 part plastic epoxy repair, or JB Weld and some material to go over the cracks w/ the epoxy to brace it. Fix the seat. Some people have used fiberglass and resin but that get expensive.
We all remove the stock air cleaner and get a 15mm x 44mm OD alum V-stack and 44mm ID w/ choke arm and a cone or foam filter. The gold headed engine above has that V-stack and choke arm.

the only useable mount points on the tail are the center points at the rear.. so I may need to weld some extra tabs on or something. I think I have an idea for the seat. at least for temp purposes. I'll probably end up with new replacement parts by the time the kid is big enough to graduate to it, Filed dispute on the bike i ordered so hopefully get my money back soon.. and just settle on the walmart bike to start him with

I have a 110cc X18, & dirt bike and 125cc 4 wheel ATV, all have the same mounts, one in the rear & one behind the cyld on top of the cases. 10mm long bolts. You need to weld on 4 tabs to the frame, 2 on each side where needed, to mount the engine.

You need the GS Moon starter cover w/ black pulley & steel pins move and grab the notches on the round starter pawl. Get an alum shim for in between the cover and cases. You will need 4 , M5 x 0.8 x 25 or 30mm long socket/allen bolts and washers to mount it.

The shim is only about 1/16", .060", but look the engine cases at the pawl, its not flat and the plastic starter housing will only touch in the corners where the bolts hold it on, or easy to break. If you look at my scooter engine it also has a metal outer protection too, it goes on before the bolts are put in, cause on a scooter that hits the ground first, lol.
Anyway, go to pocketbikeparts on the east coast or scooterparts4less on the west coast. Look under X7- mid/super bikes parts. They should have all three parts you need.

Thanks for the tip on Pocket bike parts. should have pull start and shim shortly. what would be a recommendations on the velocity stack with choke they sell. I know i need to get an air filter anyway figured i'd look into other odds and ends to help this poor bike carry me around.

You need a 15mm ID and 44mm OD V-stack w/ choke arm when you remove the stock air box, which has a piece of metal in front blocking the carb bore. You can get a set, with even a carb on eBay for $25 or less, comes w/ V-stack, choke arm & hp cone air. Do Not confuse the 15mm for the 19/44mm V-stack for a 49cc Cag reed port engine, they look similar but won't bolt to your 15mm pumper carb.
Search on eBay and other places under; 49cc pocket bike parts, which will show reed port stuff also. Or 49cc X7 super pocket bike parts, and see what shows up. Ask here before you buy the wrong stuff.

When I was teenager my first bike was a Honda 50cc super sport, my last a CB1100F Super Bike limited production for the Euro 1100cc Super Bike Class, 4 inline, dual over head cams and roller rockers and 4 carbs, and 4 into 1 Kerker exhaust & Andrews HP Ign. coils. I had it to around 150 MPH flat out one day, lol.

Mine is a 1994 CB 1000 F first bike was a 1990 yamaha Radian that my younger brother has in pieces.. he's using it for spare parts for another Radian he bought 2 years ago. I had my CB pegged out on the speedo 2 times in my life just wanted to see if It would do it.. I swear that needle didnt start coming back down into readable range for a good mile when I let off... If I remember right the speedo reads up to 165 ... I'm 5'7" 150Lbs... My CB isnt even phased by me being on her.. I'd like to pick up one of the 1100 motors and swap it over .. been looking at getting a newer CB as I like the sitting stance and my wrists are getting too tired to ride laying on a gas tank.

I found what I think is the carb set you were talking about for the pocket bike

Yes sir, that's the one, on the ad click, see other parts. If you don't need the carb and intake manifold, they sell just the V-stack w/ choke arm and hp air filter for around $12 to $15. Your X7 should have a 15mm ID alum intake manifold, they come stock like that. Scooters only come w/ that black plastic one.

You can tell a piston port intake manifold, carb & V-stack look different than a red port Cag. engine once you have seen them both, but both types of V-stack have a 44mm OD to fit the Cag reed port cone filter, some use foam filter systems.

Go to that eBay ad posted above mxpitbikes, click see more items , click Buy Now button then go to page 4, there is a chrome cone air filter w/ 15mm by 44mm and V-stack, w/ choke arm and long M5 mounting bolts, $14.38, free shipping.
